What resembles an age spot?
Flat warts need to be ruled out, and there is a certain amount of autoinoculation, which means that they tend to grow around the original rash, and while some will heal on their own, most will need to be treated aggressively in order to avoid extensive development.
The photo looks like age spots or coffee spots, how old are they? Are there any more of these patches on the lower back and abdomen? Are there any other skin tumor-like growths elsewhere?
